Dr. Biswanath Ghosh Dastidar

Dr Biswanath Ghosh Dastidar is a consultant IVF specialist and clinical embryologist with interests in HPO axis dysregulation, PCOS, non-invasive embryo assessment and AI in IVF.

Currently, he is serving as Director of the IVF Program at GD Institute for Fertility Research, Kolkata- an institution with a history of over 40 years of pioneering clinical and scientific contribution to IVF in India; Clinical Tutor in Ob-Gyn at IPGMER & SSKM Hospital, Kolkata where he is part of the team establishing the Center of Excellence (CoE) in ART as the first free and government funded IVF unit in Eastern India; and Associate at Cambridge Reproduction, University of Cambridge.

Prior to this, he served as Clinical Fellow (Higher) in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Addenbrookes and Rosie Hospitals NHS Trust UK (Cambridge University Hospitals).

Education and training: fellowship in gyne endoscopic surgery from Antwerp, Belgium; post-graduate residency training (MS) in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Mumbai, India (Gold medallist); Masters in Clinical Embryology on Felix and Commonwealth scholarships from Oxford, UK from where he graduated with a Distinction, and MBBS (Hons.) from Kolkata, India.

Apart from medicine, he is passionate about education, Nutrition, Access and equality in reproductive heath, and poetry.
